A Fullmetal Alchemist (Manga/Brotherhood) daemon AU (work in progress).

Creance

creance (plural creances)

1. (obsolete) faith; belief; creed
2. (falconry) A long leash, or lightweight cord used to prevent escape of a hawk during training flights.

Riza Hawkeye is late to settle.

Canis Familiaris

Jean Havoc reflects on military dogs, and the many other daemons he’s met in Colonel Mustang’s office.

Nonvalent Bonds

Ed’s daemon runs for help during his fight with Scar, and everything strange Roy Mustang has observed about Fullmetal’s relationship to his daemon suddenly clicks into place.

Quintessence

Ed & Al break into the Fifth Laboratory, and explore some of the nature of humans, daemons, and Philosopher’s Stones.

Or: “The Fifth Laboratory,” with daemons, or: the two big questions of any FMA daemon AU are “what’s up with Philosopher’s Stones” and “what’s up with Al’s daemon?”

Barometric Pressure

When Mrs. Satera goes into labor during a massive storm, Winry has to face adulthood and deliver the baby… and maybe gain a new understanding of herself and her daemon in the process.

Binary Fission

Ling is willing to put his faith in Ed to perform human transmutation and get them all out of the strange dimension inside Gluttony’s stomach, but first Ed and his daemon Chrysopoeia have a warning about the potential consequences of going through the Gate of Truth.

A Lioness Steps Out Into the Sun

Ed’s daemon Chrysopoeia has always been a girl, but it takes her a while to figure out that she is too.

Massive TTRPG Bundle: Games for Gaza

Games for Gaza, an Itch megabundle raising funds for Medical Aid for Palestinians, is now live! It features 256 games from 140 creators, including over 190 TTRPGs and 40 video games (and more)! Just a $10 USD minimum!

Check it out HERE!

image

A Sunless Space, my micro-TTRPG inspired by Andor, is included as are loads more thematically appropriate games of pushing back against the endless encroach of empire.

Other TTRPG highlights (for me): Beam Saber, i’m sorry did you say street magic, The Ground Itself, Anamesis, Monster Care Squad, Cybermetal 2012, and Apocalypse Frame. These are just the bigger/more well known ones, but there’s so much variety and lots I’m excited to dig into!

image

The bundle will be available for a little under two weeks and all proceeds are going directly to Medical Aid for Palestinians.

It’s been great to have a very, very small part in this and do something, anything, in the face of such reckless hate. Go get it if you can, spread the word, and do whatever you can in your sphere of the influence to aid the cause.

Once again, you can find the bundle HERE.

Shirley Jackson’s The Haunting of Hill House was published sixty years ago today. The novel begins with one of the best openings I have ever read:

“No live organism can continue for long to exist sanely under conditions of absolute reality; even larks and katydids are supposed, by some, to dream. Hill House, not sane, stood by itself against its hills, holding darkness within; it had stood for eighty years and might stand for eighty more. Within, walls continued upright, bricks met neatly, floors were firm, and doors were sensibly shut; silence lay steadily against the wood and stone of Hill House, and whatever walked there, walked alone.”

Jennell Jacquays, old-school D&D luminary, groundbreaking FPS level designer for Quake 3 Arena and many other titles, and one of the few trans elders in the old-school D&D community, needs to raise a lot of money for treatment for life-threatening Guillain-Barre syndrome. If you’ve ever heard the term “jacquayed” to refer to a dungeon with many possible routes through it, that’s because she invented the concept. Her dungeons Dark Tower and Caverns of Thracia are both widely regarded as some of the best OD&D modules of all time. Her wife Rebecca Heineman is also a notable trans elder in her own right. Please help out if you can afford to.

Hey all. I wanted to share the GoFundMe for my friend who was in a severe car accident earlier this week. She’s still hospitalized and facing a number of surgeries and a very long recovery, and I am so heartbroken and worried for her.

Katherine is one of the most incredible people I know. I met her on this website almost a decade ago and we’ve been friends ever since. Some of you may remember me talking about my cool friend who works with the Mars rovers, or my friend who founded an affinity group for queer cosplayers within the Star Wars costuming clubs and who recently helped found and run a whole Star Wars Legends convention – that’s all her. She’s a brilliant, amazing person, a dedicated volunteer and activist, and most importantly, a wonderful, supportive friend who has been there for me during some of the hardest periods of my life.

If any of you can support her during this time, I and the hundreds of other people whose lives she’s touched would be immensely grateful. There is no one more deserving, I promise.
